About Sean
Hey there!
I’m Sean, and I’m a Solution Architect who focuses on helping organisations adopt Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) in a way that’s grounded in business value—not just technical success.
My career began on the command line as a Unix and Linux sysadmin. From there, I expanded into networking, storage, virtualisation, and automation. I was fortunate to be part of the x86 cloud revolution from the early days, spending years designing, building, and operating both private and public cloud platforms.
I’ve worked for some of the biggest names in the industry, including BT, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Cisco.
As my career evolved, I moved into more strategic roles—working directly with senior leaders to align technology decisions and roadmaps with broader business goals. I’ve also led the creation, piloting, and rollout of professional services packages that help organisations accelerate and de-risk transformation.
Along the way, I developed a specialism in industrial sectors—particularly Utilities—and built and ran a Centre of Excellence focused on digital transformation, IT-OT convergence, and compliance in highly regulated environments.
Today, I work with CIOs, CISOs, CTOs and their teams to navigate the complexity of SASE adoption, making sure it delivers real, measurable outcomes.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me “out for a run” - I’m a keen trail runner and endurance athlete, regularly competing in 100-200 mile ultra marathons around Europe—the more mountainous, the better! ⛰️ You can stalk me on Strava, if you want: https://www.strava.com/athletes/seanxkelly
